Revealing my $100k YouTuber roadmap

For over a month now, I’ve been running a group coaching programme called the $100k YouTuber.

Why $100,000?

Because it’s a nice balance of realistic, life-changing, and sexy.

Most people don’t earn $100k.

In fact, less than 1% of the world’s population does. But, it also doesn’t feel totally out of reach, and therefore not as de-motivating as a product that promises “Make $1m by Tuesday!”.

And in 2011, Nobel Prize winning psychologist Daniel Kahneman published a paper reporting that the rise in emotional well-being starts to plateau beyond $100,000.

Aka, you don’t get much happier after that point.

So, that’s why I’ve gone for it.

I want to help people make the most life-changing jump in income, through teaching something they love.

And together, all these channels help educate the world for free.

A lofty goal, but one that gets me out of bed in the morning.

I don’t love the association with money, but I also value the clarity of outcome that everyone in the programme is working towards.

And up to today, I’d only encouraged channels averaging 1,000 views or more per video to apply.

But working with everyone in the group so far, I’ve realised a few things about who it’s for.

It’s not just for channels already getting views. It’s for any educator, expert or coach already making videos on YouTube, who has the potential to build a big YouTube based business.

It’s certainly easier if you’ve already started getting views on YouTube, but that’s really only one piece of the puzzle.

To scale to $100k+, you also need to learn to build your email list, create grand slam offers, and build great products that get results.

There’s a lot to learn how to do.

And since creating the programme, I’ve started building out materials to learn how to do each step in detail, so that the path feels clear and achievable.

Here’s what the journey to $100k looks like in one single, epic roadmap:

Don’t worry if it looks overwhelming, I’ll be sharing a free written course to go along with this sometime soon for you to get stuck into.

But, in the meantime, I’m now expanding applications to any educational YouTuber that wants to build a business around their channel.

I’ll then personally review applications on a case by case basis as they come through, and choose the ones who are the best fit.

I’ll be looking for YouTubers who:

1. Have a clear area of expertise or knowledge they teach

2. Have uploaded at least 20 videos (and once in the past 90 days)
