A hot take of mine:
99% of YouTubers don’t need more information.
There’s tonnes of information online for free, and you’ve probably consumed most of it.
And it’s not that you already know everything you’ll need to know for the next 3 years.
Or that online courses can’t be really helpful.
It’s that you know more than you need to know right now.
More than you need to take the next step.
I’ve been running a group coaching programme for YouTubers for the last 3 weeks, and a recurring theme is people wanting more information than they need.
They might have the bottleneck “how do I learn more about who’s in my audience?” which will help them build the right products.
But they think they need to watch a Hormozi video about how to scale from 6 to 7 figures.
My friend, that’s problem number 517.
You’ve not yet solved problem number 6.
A huge part of my job is preventing overwhelm (a legitimate threat).
I remind people that they can in fact forget about solving all these random, nebulous problems ~6 months in the future.
And just take the next step that’s right in front of them.
Yes, it’s often not clear what that step actually is.
But I find it’s more frequently a case of:
“I’m scared of taking the next step” than it is “I have no absolutely NO IDEA what the next step is.”
And because you’re scared of taking the next step, and solving the problem in front of you, you procrastinate by watching another YouTube video about solving problem number 115.
Here’s how I’m trying to approach building my business every day.
Do the thing I know I need to do.
Do the thing I know I need to do.
Do the thing I know I need to do.
Hmm, I need to get better at this thing. Let me find a specific video, course or person to help me level up.
Do the thing I know I need to do.
Do the thing I know I need to do.
Hmm, I actually don’t know what the next thing to focus on is. Let me talk to some people, run some experiments, and get loads of data about the path ahead.
Do the thing I know I need to do.
Do the thing I know I need to do.
**Remember to avoid procrastinating by watching Hormozi videos that solve problems 312 through 465 when I’m still working on problem 9.**
Watch Hormozi video anyway 👀
Do the thing I know I need to do.
Do the thing I know I need to do.
Do the thing I know I need to do…
That’s at least how it feels in my mind.
I ask myself, what’s the biggest thing holding me back from moving to the next step?
“I don’t really know know what videos to make on YouTube. Let me come up with lots of ideas and go make them.”
“I don’t really know how to get views on YouTube with the videos I’m making. Let’s learn tonnes about that and implement different things to see if I can improve.”
“I don’t think I have enough of an unfair advantage in this space to grow at the pace I want to grow, let’s figure out what other videos I can make.”
“I’m getting 1,000s of views per video, let’s go learn about what product I can build.”
Reminder from last week.
Things.
Move.
Faster.
When.
You.
Solve.
One.
Problem.
At.
A.
Time.
I’ll probably talk about this idea in a 1000 different ways for decades to come.
Because learning isn’t just about hearing an idea once and understanding it.
Learning is about hearing an idea enough times to the point where you actually change your behaviour and approach to something.
I find one of the biggest benefits for the YouTubers I work with in the coaching programme is not the information I share.
It is helpful, and I’ve made a nice roadmap for them which makes it clearer where they are in the journey (I’ll share with you soon too) so they know what the next step is.
But there are three real value adds I think beyond more information:
Accountability
Motivation and emotional support (preventing overwhelm)
Personal guidance specific to them
If you’re considering doing 1:1 coaching for your viewers, don’t underestimate the power of those three things.

Thanks, great advice (as usual)!
Thanks for this TinTin! I often get stuck in the: let me just watch one more video loop vs. creating myself.
It’s time to switch to focusing on getting more data. Doing the thing more.
